Pulpit Rock, Peninnis, St. Mary’s

Perhaps the most celebrated of the Peninnis rocks, the Pulpit is an impressive sight. A tabular, pointed granite slab which rests, seemingly precariously on a smaller fulcrum of granite before jutting out towards the sea.
Formed through constant erosion by wind and water along the horizontal fault lines in the rock the flat slab has provided many a photographic opportunity for anyone daring to stand on its peak.
